Changing Everyone’s Viewing Experience
I grew up where my dad would make us a schedule on who would do the chores. There was also a schedule on which subjects to study every day. For a kid, it may seem a bit harsh knowing that most of your classmates may not be experiencing the same. But, being a parent now, I have a better understanding of what they wanted us to develop – responsibility.
In the afternoon, we need to take a nap, as instructed by my parents (which, I often end up pretending to be sleeping) but, I would be watching the television while my Yaya dozes off. Saturday mornings was always a special day. I get to watch my favorite shows – Voltes V (Yup! My brother and I even had a matching shirt and shorts), Sesame Street, Care Bears, and a lot more. (Yes! I am old!) We were contended watching these shows and would sometimes imitate a scene- very typical for kids.
As time pass, so was the entertainment. In the early 80’s the Betamax was very popular. I remember watching about 5 VCDs every weekend with my mom. We would rent from a shop nearby. It was Php5 per VCD for overnight rent. Then the VHS player, then the CD player and it kept getting better.
Technology became the core of everyone’s life – be it at home, school, or office. Now, what is mostly the center of every home is a smart TV. Years ago, it was Sony who made it popular, then the rest followed. Everyone was “outsmarting” each other so more people would purchase their TV. The cost of the Smart TV has also somehow become more affordable.
Apart from the well-known brands like Sony, Samsung, and LG, you will also find more affordable brands. Shopping has never been the same since online shops started. Both Lazada and Shopee are taking a great lead when it comes to convenience shopping. Before, they were only known for selling clothes, accessories and home items. But now, gadgets and appliances have become one of their popular products.
Although we own a 55” Samsung 4k Ultra HD TV, we have decided to try a less expensive brand which we planned to have in our bedroom. Among all the other affordable brands of Smart TVs that I have seen, I got interested in AVision TV.
Our room was not that big, and so I decided to purchase the Avision 49" UHD Smart Digital LEDTV 49K788U with WallBracket. I have read the reviews about AVision TVs and thought that it was worth trying it. I get the pleasure of watching my favorite TV shows. I also get to watch great quality movies and TV series through Netflix. My son would always be switching it to YouTube since he really enjoys singing and listening to music. I am also able to watch other movies by simply plugging in my USB which is full of my favorite movies. (Guess what? I have some of my favorite kids’ show, too! SSHHH!)
Here is what I can say about AVision 49K788U:
· The picture quality is great. I have not experienced any issues with regards to its display.
· I have no problem with the sound quality, as well. I do admit that there are times that the audio may not be as loud as it should be based on the volume reading, but that also depends on how the movie was recorded. But if you want to have the audio enhanced, you might want to use a speaker. My son uses a Bluetooth speaker.
· I am mostly online. And I also find the browser to be useful in helping me do some of my research. I got a bad eyesight and having a larger screen to read everything that I need is truly helpful.
· It is currently connected to a cable box, and again, I have not experienced any issues with regards to the signal of local shows.
· It came with both a TV stand and wall bracket. We preferred mounting it on our bedroom wall. Installation was a breeze!
· It did have a warranty card included which says that they offer a 2-year warranty for both parts and services except for broken LCD. I think not all people know about this, nor are they aware that they also have to send AVision a scanned copy of the warranty card to them to make their warranty claim valid.
Verdict:
Avision 49" UHD Smart Digital LEDTV 49K788U is a wise choice for budget-conscious moms. Do not expect so much from a TV that only has UHD features compared to the one with 4K capabilities. For the price of less than Php20,000.00, this is surely a great buy for the family to enjoy.
Just to clarify, the video quality is also dependent on the quality of your internet connection. Make sure that you have a stable internet connection to have a seamless viewing experience.
I am actually planning to buy another one for my parents’ home. I have checked AVision’s FB Page and found that they are joining flash sales on both Lazada and Shopee frequently. So, I guess, I would just have to check the sites for their next online sale.
