How Your Emotional State Determines Your Health
To be able to live, we need food and water to sustain our everyday activities. However, not all have adopted a healthy lifestyle. It can be caused by genetics as you would see a family of obese people, some would have acquired it due to the kind of everyday living they have. Who are more prone to being unhealthy? Those who abhor to do exercise and those who turn to food when they are into some personal issues in life are the most likely people who could be affected with these eating disorders.
You are aware that there are various eating disorders that can affect an individual. They can either have Anorexia or Bulimia. Anorexia is a kind o disorder wherein a person thinks that he/she is overweight so that he/she would skip eating meals. With the thinking that even a spoonful of food could actually gain them a pound or two. While +Bulimia is a eating disorder wherein the person would feel the need to eat and then afterwards force himself/herself to throw up by placing a finger inside the throat making himself/herself gag. Imagine how much food is wasted. Binge eating as what we call it is wanting to eat a lot of food in one sitting then feels guilty about how much food was consumed so the next thing to do is to throw it up. Not only does it hurt your body due to inadequate amount of nutrients, but it does have an effect on the digestive system itself as the acid is being forced out of the body. Along with this is the effect on the psychological state of the person. Most people who have these conditions are depressed. They might not be able to handle their problems on their own and so they turn to food to comfort themselves but what happens is that they get more stuck in a pool of problems wherein aside from what could be depressing them is the thought that they have suddenly lost control of their weight.
With this being said, a medical intervention is badly needed. Many have died because of these. One famous singer in the 70’s, who happens to be a favourite of mine was Karen Carpenter. People kept on telling her that she looks overweight on camera. She did not have a body like those of the super models but it was fine. Being in front of the camera, one may really look 10 lbs heavier! She got insecure with the way people see her and so she made herself thin by starving herself. This eventually became the cause of her death.
