Defying the Odds of Aging ... The Vanity of A Woman

I couldn’t say that I am a vain person. But I do try to make myself as presentable as I can be. I am not the typical woman who would give time to visit the salon for several reasons: I have things to do at home, it will cost money (of course), and that I am just too lazy to go out unless I really need to. I have been seeing so many skin and body treatments being advertised by various salons. All of them promise to give you that youthful glow. Years ago, liposuction was the only way to get rid of those unwanted fats. And unfortunately, only those who are wealthy can afford such a procedure. Have I thought of going under the knife? It has crossed my find wanting to have a better-shaped body, but to have liposuction was not just expensive, it is quite scary for me, too. I know that there are licensed professionals that perform this treatment, but I guess, it is just not for me.

So, here I am, a freelance writer, working from home for the past 8 years. And just like most people who work from home, they have somehow gained weight. Most of us have become (willing) victims of the virtual world simply because you earn working online. And that is indeed the best way of earning these days. Have I gone lazy? A bit, I guess. Even when I am on a meeting, just turning on the speaker of my laptop at its maximum volume, I am able to do household chores without my client ever noticing. Well, it’s a different story if the client requested a video conference.
Me with the very round face before treatment.

Since I would never do liposuction and it is a bit difficult to stay on a healthy diet, a non-invasive treatment was the perfect solution to my dilemma. I have been gaining weight. It’s not that I eat a lot all the time, but I guess because of my age, my metabolism has gotten slower plus the fact that I lack the exercise which reminds me that I should start again asap. I have been curious about this “instant” fat-dissolving solution, I have been reading about this HIFU treatment. From the reviews I have read, it seems to be promising.

What is HIFU?
HIFU is short for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. What it does is lift and tighten sagging skin and improves skin laxity specifically in the jawline, cheeks, and perioral area. It is a painless, non-invasive procedure which can last up to two years. Additionally, it also helps lift the brows, tightens the connective tissue, and at the same time can be used for cellulite treatment. The high-intensity ultrasound waves penetrate deep into the skin to help stimulate elastin and collagen production. Astonishingly, you get immediate results after the treatment. Although HIFU may just be the answer for that instant facelift and creating that “V” shaped face, it should be noted that the completion of the magic can be fully appreciated after 3 months.

It was definitely a “go” for me. But my next dilemma was finding the right clinic to do the treatment. And you know how new technology can just sprout anywhere. Also, I wouldn’t want to spend too much. Of course, typically we would look for a place that offers quality service at a very reasonable price. I had to make sure that my money is worth it. Scouting through a lot of clinics that offer such treatment, it was Veneracion Beauty Salon and Spa who offered an affordable price. Currently, HI-LIFT HIFU is offered at 70% off for the first 50 clients only and that is Php 2,500 plus 1 RF. Its regular price is at Php 8,000.00 I knew the salon for two years and I do trust them. Therefore, off I went last Wednesday with my sister-in-law.

The HIFU Experience
I was extremely excited to try the treatment. I just want to make my face look a little smaller and of course, minimize all those facial lines that are just so frustrating every time I face the mirror. I think that no cream or ointment can completely eliminate those lines, but I am hoping that somehow, the lines would become shallower. Am I getting vain? Nope! I am getting paranoid about looking very old before my age! And to have this wonderful non-invasive treatment is my saving glory.

Do I think it would work on me? I was hoping it could. I have seen the before and after photos of previous clients and I was just too drawn to try it myself. Since I also wanted to have my nails done, it was my sister in law who had it first.

I was led into a smaller room. Just like any skin salon, the room was in pristine white. There was nothing much in the room except the bed, machine, and a stool. The nurse was very pleasing. And she made sure that I was comfortable. First, she cleaned my face using a skin cleanser (of course!). Then she lathered my face with a gel that is typically used when performing an ultrasound. I asked her what I was supposed to feel. She told me that there would be a tiny tingling sensation. The HIFU transducer have different sizes. These are used depending on the area of the face. For the cheeks and neck area, a bigger one is used. For the eye area, a smaller transducer.

The treatment went for 45 minutes. It was a very calming experience. I could hear the clicking of the transducer every time it goes off. Inch by inch, it made its way to my whole face and neck. Gradually the frequency/intensity of the heat was increased. Fortunately, the gel was thick enough that I did not feel the heat.

I was told that if ever you want to have your face a little smaller, you can repeat the treatment after one month.

THE VERDICT
I am a person with a bit of low self-esteem. Probably because I do not have the greatest skin nor the body to show off. But after the treatment, I saw immediate results! And I am looking forward to a much better-shaped face. This is a 5-thumbs up for me! I definitely recommend the HIFU Treatment from Veneracion Beauty Salon and Spa.
