Relaxed, Refreshed and Pampered

Ever since I have been taking care of Bella’s and Athena’s pups, I never had the time I used to have in writing. And ensuring that the pups are always okay, I have devoted my time looking after them. Yup! It’s just like having kids all over again. But, of course, being too tired with work and the pups shouldn’t be an excuse not to take care of myself. I still get some time to do my nails and hair at the salon. I don’t want to look older than my age!

I do believe that every woman needs to give time for herself to make herself not only beautiful but also feel renewed, particularly those who are busy at work and most importantly, the stay-at-home moms. Whoever said that being a stay-at-home-mom is the easiest job on earth is crazy! Although you are surrounded by your loved ones and in the comfort of your home all day, there are lots of work to be done. And that could just be as tiring as going to work as early as 6am just to beat the traffic and hearing your grouchy boss telling you things to do this and that. So what could be the best way to escape all these routine activities? HIT THE SALON! 

Incidentally, I know one salon located in Timog that offers a wide variety of pampering services – the Veneracion Beauty Salon and Nail Spa. It is the first Unicorn Themed Nail Spa in the Philippines. But because I only had limited time, I opted to have my nails done and try their new signature foot spa.

I was welcomed by the receptionist, Kim, with a smile. At least, this is what I got. Others would have just treated each customer with a blank face. And with that happy face greeting me, I know that I will be in good hands. It was just almost 1pm and the salon is not as busy as it usually is. But I am happy that I get to be the first to be serviced since, it was a Friday, I know that the salon could start becoming busy. Although I have seen from their Facebook Page that their foot spa was rather not the usual foot spa that I get from other salons, I didn’t realize that setting it up would take a while. But, I am not complaining. Because the place itself is an Instagram heaven and as the salon staff was slowly finishing up the setup, I was just so thrilled to let my feet soak in the beautiful warm Citrus Foot Spa.

Normally, it would take only about a maximum of 15-30 minutes to soak your feet and take in all the benefits of the citrus foot spa. But, since, I opted to use gel nail polish, soaking my feet a little longer was fine with me. I wanted to have baby soft feet, of course!

My Lovely Nails

When I was still single, I only used nude colors to paint my nails. I just think that being young should also mean being simple. But, when I got married, I dared to use bolder colors, most of which are the shades of red. But, this time. I braved a neon pink nail polish. It’s summer! And I just want to imbibe a happy feeling with my neon nails. So, neon pink polish it is!

It was my first time to use a gel nail polish so I wasn’t aware how long it would take to finally have my nails done. A primer was painted on twice to protect the nails. Each coat of nails had to be dried using a nail dryer for a few seconds, 30, I think. I am happy that the nail tech really knows what she was doing. As she was doing my nails, I was chatting with her. I seldom talk to salon staff (unless necessary) while I am having my nails done, but I found Ate Beth (although I know I am older, I still wanted to give a little respect by calling her Ate) to be fun to talk to. It was like talking to someone you have known before, and she was very polite, as well. I learned that she has been working for over a year at the salon and she told me that she is happy working there. It’s not every day that you get really good employees, and I do know that the salon owner gives them what they deserve. And that reflects with the kind of service that they provide to each of their customers.

The Unique Foot Spa Experience

Considering how much lemons cost these days, Veneracion Beauty Salon & Spa still makes sure that they live to what their customers expect from them. You can just see how beautiful the set up is and if you do not have an eye for creativity, no matter how beautiful or expensive the things that you are supposed to use, it would come out as BLAH! But, the Citrus Foot Spa set up was not short in letting me know how great this was and I was just so excited to finally immerse my feet with the warm citrus foot bath. My feet were soaking for some time and was given the usual foot scrub which I really needed. I have gotten callous feet overtime coz I tend to take off my slippers when I give my frenchies a bath so I would prevent myself from slipping if they happen to run off.

Aside from the refreshing foot bath, my legs were also delighted to have a nice scrub using salt (I am just not sure what kind, I forgot to ask). And after that, a hydrating mask was rubbed on my legs and then wrapped with a cling wrap to help close the open pores. It was refreshing indeed since the hydrating mask was very cool. After several minutes, the wrap was taken off, lotion was then used and a foot massage. I had to give my toes the same nail polish to finish my much-deserved pampering.

Our main concern when we want to have a foot spa is to help you be free from all the stress (well, we all hope that it could). It helps to detoxify the body of toxins, increase energy, stamina, improves blood circulation and provide relaxation. Adding lemon to the foot bath helps exfoliate dead skin and brighten the skin and nails and help soothe tired feet.

THE VERDICT:

I rarely write these days to share my two cents regarding my recent experiences, but my experience with the salon is something that I could not just pass up on. So here it is how I found my Veneracion experience:

a.      Ambiance – Veneracion Beauty Salon and Spa is the first Unicorn Themed Nail Salon in the Philippines. And with that alone, you are able to feast your eyes with the colorful hues of the rainbow. It is like being in a dreamland … it’s like you get to feel being like a child once more. 

b.     Service – I am greatly satisfied with the service provided to me. What I am most happy about it is that I didn’t have any wound after my nails have been cleaned. (I had a bad experience before which made me refuse to go to the salon for a time.)

c.      Price – I could say that all their services are reasonably priced. I mean, do not expect to have a salon price similar to the ones you see at the corner, because Veneracion Beauty Salon and Spa is definitely different from them when it comes to service and the kinds of products that they use.

d.     Salon Staff – To be greeted with a happy smile means a lot to any customer, and they were able to achieve that.

e.      Location – The Timog area is full of salons, however, coming to this salon is a one-stop-shop for all your pampering needs. They are located at the G/F of Victoria Towers and provide a basement parking.
